The best neighbors ever

Today Logan Utah woke up to about 6 inches of snow. thanks mother nature, that's just stellar. As I look out my window feeling like I'm stuck in Narnia and their never ending winter with no Christmas, I decide that it would be a good idea to warm up my car. So I venture out into the snow and start my car. As I go about my daily ordeal the time comes that I must go to work. I prepare myself for cold hands seeing as my window scraper is a small one. But when I walk outside my neighbor, Matt is just about finished cleaning off my car of the accursed snow. Saving me from cold hands and getting me to work on time! Thanks Matt! You helped start my day off right!!!

In no particular order...

So, the last few weeks in no particular order are... Dino museum, watching some guys blow glass and (mom don't freak out) holding a gun for the first time....a really really really huge gun. And no it wasn't loaded.

Giant Sea Turtle thing (yes they used to exist)

me holding Seth's gun, not so sure I liked it. but I posed for a picture anyway
Watch some of these being made, it was really super awesome! I wish i could learn how to do something cool like this!

Devin and his Dino friend

Me and my Dino friend

Those are the most exciting of things that has happened. But on top of that, I've been making new friends left and right! I have wonderful neighbors who are swiftly becoming wonderful friends! And just in the nik of time too! Making new friends and strengthening old friendships are my all time favorite things! Nothing beats a good friend :)
Dance is crazy busy. Rehearsal all the time! Its a love hate relationship. Our performance is April 24Th, 2010 at the Ellen Eccles Theater in Logan Utah. The title this year is Movable Parts. Im performing in three peices and I'm setting four. Its the most involved in a show I have been since I started with Valley Dance Ensemble almost four years ago. I love to be that involved its just proving to be more time consuming that I had first thought. But it will be very rewarding in the end. Just gotta stick it out!! This time of year is always stressful for me.
Life in general right now is really really good. Summer is almost here, Easter is on sunday (my favorite meal of the year) Im moving into my very own apartment soon and I didnt have to wear a coat to work today! woo hoo!
I'm rediscovering The Rocket Summer. Falling in love with Bryce Avery all over again. It feels good.
Also kicking trash at rock climbing. Finally got a trail that I have been working on for the last couple days. Nailed it. I was very proud. time to move on to harder things!!
well I think that pretty much sums it up!!

not much of a poet, but writing what you feel helps

Its amazing how a few simple words can change your life and how you thought it would turn out. Its also amazing the emotions one girl can feel. And all at the same time. Whats even more amazing is that I was able to organize those emotions...kinda. And rather roughly. But at least I tried.

My sister writes poems

My sister Mandy travels, A LOT. At times she is only home for a few days before she heads off to another destination! My other sister Chelsea writes poems, one of which she recently wrote for and about Mandy and her travels. One I would like to share here. Enjoy!

in twenty seven years

each time your foot steps

onto another jet plane

i can feel a separation,

a distance, a cavity of space

as though the womb of our

mother that once held each

of us has nearly forgotten

that your blood and mine

are a mixture of the same

resonance, with intonations

that are different, but

complimentary

so many things know you.

so many places have seen you.

the most emerald of grass

and bluest of ice-

sea levels of height

and depth- and each

enhance the color after you have

explored them, changed them,

loved them

while the space moves

in and out of us, space never splits,

never divides, and never damages.

rather embellishes an alliance

that could never be forged by

time or expanse. we are cellularly

fastened, more than blood and water.

everything you see, makes my

life more amplified. every word

i write sits in your ear

you are more than my sister.

you are my world traveller,

my seeker of newness,

my fighting ally,

my maker of music.

Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you Happy birthday dear sisters!!! Happy Birthday to yooooouuu!!!

Celebrated some birthdays this weekend! Mandy's, which was on the 19th of February. and Chelsea's which will be on the 25th of February and mine which is on the 5th of March!

woohoo! Chelsea will be thirty, Mandy is now 27 and I will be turning 22. We have a good range of age in our family.

To celebrate Chelsea, Mom, Dad and I (Mandy could not join us seeing as she is in New Zealand) went to Fat cats for some pizza, pasta and bowling!! Chelsea won the first game and Dad won the second game. For dessert Mom brought these amazing sugar cookies! sooo good!!

Mandy you were greatly missed! And we talked about you and the big jump you took!! Holy crap, you are one brave chick!! I hope it was everything you wanted and more! woo hoo!! I hope that your birthday was a good one and that you had lots of people with you to celebrate!!

In other news this weekend, I was hanging out over at my neighbor Seth's apartment on Sunday after church and other such Sunday activities, meeting new people and eating some food. talked about rock climbing with some people, having lots of fun. When out of no where Seth, Matt and a kid i have never met before come out with their guitars and start singing. After a couple of songs they decided to serenade me! ha ha ha it was a riot! Seth sang about how we met and the kid i didn't know sang about my purple hair and Matt sang about how cool I am! ha ha it was great!!! I do believe that was the first time a group of boys have sung to me!

Kid I don't know, Seth and Matt

Thanks boys!! You made my day!!! I guess that is all for today!!
